Live steps from campus and enjoy the comfort, convenience, and connection of Glen Oaks Student Housing. Our housing suites are designed for modern student life—with fully furnished rooms, on-site laundry, Wi-Fi, and shared spaces for study and connection.


Technology Access & Connectivity

Computer Access
All residents have access to on-campus computers in the Library and designated academic areas. Use your student ID to log in and get your work done whenever you need.

Wireless Internet
High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout Student Housing. The network is shared among residents—please avoid streaming large files or bandwidth-heavy downloads to keep service smooth for everyone.

  • Only the official GOCC wireless network is allowed.
  • Personal routers or hotspots are not permitted, as they interfere with service.
  • Make sure your personal devices have antivirus, firewalls, and security tools installed.

Note: The College does not offer tech support for student-owned devices.


Comfort & Furnishings

Suite Options
Choose between two-bedroom and four-bedroom suite layouts. All suites include:

  • Full-size refrigerator, stove, and microwave
  • Living room with furniture
  • Two counter-height stools for dining
  • Private bedrooms with:
    • Twin bed and mattress
    • Two-drawer dresser
    • Desk and chair
    • Closet
    • Window coverings

Recommended Items to Bring

  • Bed linens, blankets, and pillows
  • Towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies
  • Small kitchen appliances (UL-approved) like a toaster or coffee maker
  • Cooking essentials: dishes, silverware, pots, and pans
  • Area rug and décor to personalize your space
  • Laptop or streaming device

GOCC reserves the right to update what items are permitted in housing.

Climate Control

Each suite features a main temperature control in the living room and individual units in each bedroom.

  • Summer: set no lower than 68°F

  • Winter: set no higher than 72°F
    These settings prevent equipment damage and support energy efficiency. Suitemates should agree on temperature settings as part of their housing agreement.


Mail & Communication

Email & Mailbox Access
Residents are expected to check their GOCC email and their housing mailbox daily. Important messages may also be posted on doors or in shared areas.

Mail Delivery & Pick-Up

  • Mail is delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and sorted by Housing staff during the business week.
  • Oversized packages? You'll receive a notice in your mailbox and can pick them up from the Housing Office with your ID.

Moving Out?
Don’t forget to update your mailing address with both GOCC and USPS to avoid mail being returned.


Laundry Facilities

Available 24/7
The laundry room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Coin-operated washers and dryers
  • Do not overload machines or wash bulky items like sleeping bags
  • The College is not responsible for lost or damaged items
  • For service issues, contact the Director of Student Housing

Shared Spaces & Amenities

Television Lounges
TVs are available in common areas for all residents to enjoy together—perfect for movie nights, sports, or study breaks.

Outdoor Grounds Use
Want to host an event or activity outside? Get approval first.

  • No digging, planting, or removal of landscaping without permission
  • Coordinate with Housing or Campus Facilities to plan events responsibly

Q: Can I decorate my room?
A: Yes! You’re encouraged to personalize your space—just follow the housing guidelines on what’s allowed.

Q: Can I bring my own router or hotspot?
A: No. Only the College’s wireless network is allowed to ensure fair access for all residents.

Q: Can I adjust the temperature in my room?
A: Yes, each bedroom has its own control unit—but follow College temperature guidelines to prevent damage.

Q: What happens to my mail after I move out?
A: You must update your address with the College and USPS to prevent returned or lost mail.
